Viljandi Guitar Trio cropped out of Viljandi Culture Academy’s guitar studio and consists of three guitar students who study at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy music department. Jalmar Vabarna is studying guitar specializing in folk music, Jaan Jaago and Argo Vals are specializing in jazz music. They play their music on NST (New Standard Tuning) – a method promoted in Estonia by guitarist, teacher and composer Robert Jürjendal who often joins the trio on stage.
